Product is ruining my furniture September 24, 2008 1 out of 8 found this review helpful
I was using Litter maid system but noise bothered me when I was sleeping, so I switched to Breese, my cat poops on my brand new furniture, not even on the floor, now I have to re invest and buy littermaid back, breese should offer money back guarantee and free furniture shampooing.
Breeze is a breeze September 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have five cats. We switched over following the instructions but delayed removal of the old litter system for a couple of extra days. Everything is working fine. No more litter mess on the floor and cleanup is much lighter & easier. Feces odor is still an issue but where isn't it? Keep the deodorizing spray nearby and you're done.
Did Not Work Like A Breeze For Me September 20, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We gave it a three week try, but our 2 year old mixed breed cat just didn't take to this product. She did try to eat it and kept pulling the litter out of the box and cracking it in half with her teeth... I really wanted to get rid of the clay litter dust, and the tracking of litter all around the box; but I guess we're doomed to have it. Better that than a cat who uses out of the way places in the house to relieve herself! I like the product, it's a good idea, but for us, our cat's habit just could not be changed. I followed the directions on the box, even called their HotLine (very nice people) but nothing seemed to work, so we abandoned the Breeze.
An honest review, 2 months later September 19, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Tracking: I got this litter system because of the great reviews, and primarily because I was sick and tired of the cats tracking litter everywhere. There is still *some* tracking with this system, but it's very very minimal and it doesn't get far from the box because of the size of the pellets.
Smell: With this system I find there is no urine smell at all, but the poops you can definitely smell. This is because there's not enough pellets for the cats to bury them. It needs either more pellets or a version of pellets that's pleasantly scented to try and mask the smell.
Either way it's a lot less scooping because you don't scoop the urine. Also, I have two cats and only change the pad once a week, and it's more than adequate. I'd also like it if they came out with an optional hood for the system because I prefer a covered box.
Overall, the system isn't perfect, but it's the best I've discovered to date.
Works great if you can get your cats to use it! September 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have 3 long haired cats, one of which is just wild about peeing outside the litter box, preferably in a small spot I won't easily come across so I have to walk around the house sniffing to 'find the pee.'
My biggest issues were the odor, my cats must pee an awful lot because it just seemed like i could never keep the box clean enough. The other issue was that my cats tracked litter everywhere to the point I had to keep the litter box in teh basement because other wise they would get litter all through the house.
I bought the breeze for a stupid reason: I liked how it looked and I wanted to try something new.
I wanted to be able to keep a litter box in my bathroom as my one cat had a hard time going up and down teh stairs. With standard litter, they tracked it all through the bathroom and it was just gross.
It took them awhile to use the litter box. I mixed the pellets in wtih their regular litter to get them used to the texture. After about a week or so I noticed they would pee in the Tidy Cat Breeze, but not poop. so I maintained both litterboxes, mixing in the pellets. After about a month and a half of 2 litter boxes and mixing pellets, I noticed they still wouldn't poop in the Breeze.
I usually scoop my litter box every day. I went away one weekend and when I returned I noticed that one of the cats had pooped in the Breeze, so I think that they were more likely to use the Breeze for all their business when they realized it was cleaner than the old box.
Right now 2 of the cats are pooping in the Breeze, and I think eventually the last cat will start using it. It's been a process and you have to be patient but i've got to tell you--
I love this thing!
The pellets don't track, so I'm looking forward to no more litter all over the bathroom floor
The pad works very well to control odor. I ran out of pads and one of my cats used the breeze before I put a new pad in the pan, and you can just dump the pee right out into the toilet, wash it out, and be good to go. So, I'm not sure about long term odor control without the pad, but you could use it without one for sure.
The poop sits on top of the pellets and you can easily scoop it out to remove it. I'm not sure if the pellets are flushable, but they havne't been sticking to the poo so I can just flush the poop out. I haven't had any odor issues becuase I maintain the Breeze regularly.
The pellets are white, the litter box always looks nice and fairly pristine. It's stupid, but I hated when my standard litter would get all dark and dingy. I always used ScoopAway litter, I swear it is the best.
CONS:
The pellets can be kind of hard to find. NEVER buy them at PetCo or PetSmart. A bag of pellets there are $15 when you can find them for about $6 at Target or Walmart. They sell out a lot.
There is no economy size bag of the pellets so you alawys have to buy the little bags.
Not too many pellets are in the bags so if your cat does prefer a deeper pellet layer you'll have to buy more bags.
I guess the pads are a little bit expensive, but I've used the Breeze without the pads, and I've used it with puppy pads/newspapers in a pinch. As long as you clean it out daily and wash the pan out, you could get away with this.
My cats don't have any problems with diarhea, but if yours does I could imagine this being a disgusting mess!
The pellets control odor pretty well, I haven't ahd any problems with it, at all.
My cat likes to kick the pellets around in the box. the box is plastic, and in my bathroom which is off my bedroom so I'm awakened to the sound of pellets being kicked in the middle of the night. I can't fault the box though, it's more just my cat and his quirk.
I would def recommend buying this box if you want to keep it in a bathroom or somewhere you don't want litter tracked. You're also going to have to be very patient, it took my cats a long time to use it--I'd given up on it becoming the primary box. But now that they are using it, I can't wait to get rid of my old box.
Bottom line with litter boxes: if you're dealing with pee and poop, nothing will eliminate odors 100%, you've got to do some maintenance. But this worked pretty well.
