Didn't think this would work, but it does! The egg cooking stage is totally dependent on the amount of water added to the cooker, but their handy dandy little plastic measuring cup with an egg piercer on the bottom for boiled eggs, removes all guesswork. Makes the absolutely perfect poached egg with perfectly done toast at the same time while you go about your morning chores, no time spent at the stove. Fixed four soft boiled eggs for two also perfectly. Quite a neat invention. No timing, no dirty pans (little cooking pan is easily tossed into dishwasher). Can even warm a little piece of ham on warming tray above cooker at the same time if you want. Love this toaster.

I received this as a Christmas gift and couldn't be more pleased. It makes the food very quickly so I don't have to worry about rushing in the morning if I want a hot breakfast. My 14 year old daughter loves it too. It's a good quality product that works as advertised.

I have had this machine for two weeks now and it works as promised. I have two girls 11 and 12 and showed them how to use it in 5 minutes. Great for quick breakfast. Egg,Ham and English muffins with a slice of american cheese, better then McDonalds.
Also threw on some bacon for a added touch.
I would recommend to anyone with kids and busy schedules.
Would have been 5 stars if I didn't have this problem... January 2, 2006

Got this product as a Christmas gift (2005). Used it every morning for breakfast, no problems, for about a week. I placed the removable parts in the dishwasher, top rack, a few times, like the instuctions noted. I began to notice a strange thing.
The coating material on the egg poaching dish begun cracking and peeling, exposing the bare metal. I contacted Back To Basics customer service, requesting a replacement dish, since I am afraid that the flaking coating is harmful to my health. I am still waiting for a reply from them.
It looks to be a non stick coating, but it is not. You have to coat the egg poaching dish with non-stick spray each time you use it. Perhaps they could have used a non-stick coating on the dish.
I have had no other problems with the product.

I bought this a few weeks ago, works just like it says and I could not be happier. I have two girls in the house 11 and 12 yrs old. I showed them how to use it and they love it. Great for quick breakfast if your running late. I would recommend this to anyone.
