Topsy Turvy planter June 21, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Order for the Topsy Turvy planter from Felknor Ventures was handled very quickly at an excellent price.
problem with over water June 18, 2008 I have tried 2 plants and they both died pretty much right away from the water dripping down the plant. I seems like acid water. Not really acid but its thick and yellow. I planted two more and on of them i planted in the top. The other was a way bigger base so i had to force the plant down instead off through the bottom. That plant is doing ok since it was big in the first place. Any advice on the crusty yellow orange brownish substance that forms on the bottom of the bag would be very much appreciated. I try not to let the plant touch it because it seems to kill whatever comes in contact with the what i have decided to call the orange gunk. but the plant has a mind of its own and is growning up right into it. There are some flowers forming which is a good sign but they will grown right into the gunk. I wipe it off but it comes back. Again any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for any help.
Still trying, but optimistic June 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really wish I could give this a 5. I wanted to try this so bad, but I have not had very good luck since I got it.
The first tomato plant I tried was a well-established plant that after one day was basically dead. The leaves were black, wilted and crispy. I tried to revive it, with no luck. I tried it a second time around, using two smaller seedlings. Again, my plants wilted and died. They had plenty of moisture and sunlight so I think the only issue is the wind. However, my plants in the garden are holding up to the wind just fine.
Hanging was a bit of a challenge, but I found a heavy duty shepherd's hook that held the weight just fine, and I could still move it to a new location if needed.
If anyone has any suggestions PLEASE comment. I would love for this planter to work for me and am not giving up. My next idea is to rig up something to protect the plant a bit, perhaps a 2-liter bottle around it to block the wind somehow.
very pleased June 14, 2008 I am very happy with the tomato planters. The tomatoes are growing and they seem to be prospering. I just water them once a day. I am comsidering getting more for other veggies next year.
Interesting tomatoe planter June 13, 2008 My husband and I hung the planter last week. As long as I keep it watered the blooms are starting to appear daily. Can't wait for the tomatoes to start growing.
