The fifth stage, an in-line carbon filter, is placed between tank and faucet. 4-Stage Main Cartridge Stage 1 20-micron sediment prefilter removes dirt and suspended solids Stage 2 Granular activated carbon (GAC) prefilter reduces chlorine and organic compounds Stage 3 High flow, thin-film reverse osmosis membrane reduces dissolved salts and hardness. Stage 4 Granular activated carbon (GAC) post filter after the membrane removes residual taste and odor. Fifth Stage Inline Cartridge Stage 5 Granular activated carbon (GAC) postfilter between the tank and faucet acts as a final polishing step for the freshest tasting drinking water. Innovative Design The WaterMaker Five uses the latest in system design and membrane technology to give you more water when you need it. This system delivers a 30% faster water flow from the faucet and a faster tank refill compared to a typical RO system. Yearly maintenance is quick and easy. Simply remove the cover and replace one cartridge - no complicated plumbing connections, no tools required. Compact and Lightweight The WaterMaker Five is much smaller and lighter than the typical reverse osmosis system. The complete system is approximately the same height and width as a standard two-gallon tank and is less than 14 inches in depth.
