Product Description Make TEArrifice iced tea every time! This jug brews iced tea using any loose-leaf tea. It is quick and easy, brewing the tea in minutes and can be used with hot or cold water. Simply insert the tea leaves into the stainless steel infuser, wait a few minutes and remove the infuser. Enjoy! 34 oz.
Amazon.com Review What a great way to make and serve iced tea! This modern pitcher with a loop handle is made of borosilicate glass, the kind used in laboratory equipment, which is lightweight yet extremely tough. When those lazy summer days roll around, here's what you do: Put a few tablespoons of loose-leaf tea in the cylindrical stainless-steel fine mesh filter, add hot water about halfway up, and let it brew to the desired strength. Remove the filter to stop the brewing process, and add cold water and ice cubes. Or, instead of tea, fill the filter with freshly cut citrus slices for infused water, or add red wine for sangria. The santoprene edge on the stainless-steel lid helps seal in freshness while the pitcher awaits guests. Great simply as a pitcher for serving any kind of beverage, the Bodum Bistro iced tea maker holds up to 34 ounces of liquid, and measures 9-1/2 by 5 inches. All the parts are dishwasher-safe. --Ann Bieri

Love it, but it's too fragile January 4, 2010 MtnGirl (Denver, CO) We love this! BUT, it broke after only a week of very careful use. We'd buy it again, if the glass was thicker. And we'd like it to be bigger. Great idea though, just needs improvement.
Awesome but fragile September 11, 2009 R. J. Clark (Holland, MI USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I really love the Bodum Insulated Glasses, and that lead me to buy this Iced Tea Maker.
This Pitcher works wonderfully, but doesn't get 5 stars because it is so fragile. I'm on my second one, after breaking my first one by glancing it off of my refrigerator handle. The lid stopper, also, is not a very good design (it sometimes falls off when pouring steeply) but this is a minor point when compared with how nice the rest of the product is.
Don't buy this if you can't treat it like fine china. Do buy it if you can.
A tip: the top edge is the most fragile part, so Always have the lid in place (without the stopper) when adding ice, so the hard ice can't impact said top edge.
One more thing. Bodum should sell replacement pitchers (without the stainless insert and top pieces) for those that do break theirs.
I LOVE THIS THING!!! July 19, 2009 Kent J. Smythe (CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I read all the reviews for this and among the whiners that add boiling water and crack this beautiful Tea Maker were happy people that that added Hot water and brewed successfully.
In A Tea Kettle I bring the water to a boil, then turn off the heat and let the Kettle sit for 10 minutes.
After the slight cooling period,I pour the hot water in and after several minutes I have the greatest tasting tea all brewed and strong enough to bring to a chill by pouring over ice.
I'm now a coffee in the morning and ice tea on these hot summer days kinda guy.
Great Stuff!!!!
Pitcher broke after a few uses July 15, 2009 R. Sperry (Milwaukee, WI USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I saw the other reviews saying this pitcher is very fragile, but I decided to buy it anyway figuring it would be OK as long as I was extremely careful with it. I was wrong. Despite my care, the pitcher cracked after only a few uses.
It is almost beyond belief that Bodum can sell a product this fragile. Needless to say, I'll be steering clear of Bodum products from now on.
It is too bad because this was the only pitcher and filter I found on the market made almost entirely of glass and metal. I now use the filter in a heavy glass pitcher where it works very well.
Do not buy ! June 12, 2009 seriouscook 28 out of 28 found this review helpful
This is very frail; absolutely cannot pour boiling water into it! The lid comes in three parts , which don't stay together , so when you try to pour , parts fall off into your cup .The lid is permantly open to air so the tea takes up all the flavors of the refrigerator . Truly one of the worst designed products I have come across .
