A new twist on an old theme ??? but one that needs no twisting! Throw out those old corkscrews and replace them with this revolutionary one. Using it is simple. Place the Corkscrew over the top of the bottle; the built-in bottle grip will hold the bottle tightly. With both hands, gently move the handles up and down; the specially-coated spiral will easily insert into the cork and then extract it. It's another wonder of modern technology from the folks at Vacu Vin: this corkscrew stands head and shoulders above any similar model. The tiny foil cutter stores in the top of the machine--just pop it out, squeeze gently over the top of the foil, and the foil falls right off. Next, insert the cork into the bottom of the Winemaster, with all four handles in the upright position. The corkscrew inserts itself when you pull the two smaller handles down, and you lift the cork by pulling the two larger handles. The last step: just raise all four handles again to pull out the cork--no yanking or twisting necessary! For the occasional extra-long cork, you may need to perform the steps twice--but it's still far easier than other corkscrews. You'll want to open wine just as an excuse to show off this cool gadget. Tell guests they only get to play if they bring their own bottle! --Jill Lightner

 New flaw in the design December 16, 2008
After previously owning a Vacu Vin Winemaster Corkscrew for many years which finally gave in, we decided to replace it with the same model. We purchased one that broke on the 3rd bottle of wine so we returned it for another one which did exactly the same thing. We never had any problems with our original corkscrew and even gave them as gifts. The "sleeve" that slips down over the bottle top has little plastic "stops" that broke off after one or two uses. Very disappointed because the design and mechanics of this corkscrew are great. It removes the corks as slick as a whistle usually but when these pegs break the "sleeve" slides down and makes it inoperable.

This is, bar none, the finest wine opener I've ever used. It's fun, guests love it & are intrigued and multiple bottles are never an issue. I wish I would have come up w the idea. I bought one years ago & it works just as well as when it was new. I bought more for gifts this year.
This product has become garbage December 11, 2008
It broke the first time I used it.
The previous VacuVin opener I owned lasted 8 years (over 2,000 bottles opened) until it broke but the new one broke the first time I used it. It was not "operator error" because of my 8 years experience with the product.
$50 down the drain. Don't buy this product, you will be sorry.
