This vacuum-insulated carafe maintains and serves any hot or cold beverage at the proper temperature. Press your thumb against a button on the handle, and the spout opens to allow pouring. The carafe's satin-finish, stainless-steel exterior and black plastic accents create a modern, functional appearance. Rinsing the carafe's glass interior with warm water is usually the only cleaning necessary, but swirling a teaspoon of mild detergent diluted in warm water around with a soft sponge or cloth removes stains. Unlike most of the buyers of this carafe, I found it to be a serious disappointment, thanks to a major design flaw. The open-and-close mechanism is a dud. After pushing the handle knob to "open," what I get from the spout is little more than a trickle. Returning any product costing less than $25 is such a hassle that I'll just toss it and eventually buy another one, but a more expensive one from another manufacturer -- and keep my fingers crossed.
 The Best Thermal Carafe November 22, 2008
I bought this as a result of all the problems I had with coffeemakers that came with thermal carafes. It was a great choice! I decided to get a coffeemaker with a regular glass carafe and just pour the coffee into the thermal carafe. That way, I don't get stuck with a leaky, coffee cooler.
This is really convenient, too. You just press the button to open it. Pour a cup. Press the button to close it. And it does as well at keeping coffee hot as any I've used. I like the fact that is uses a glass liner. I don't have to preheat it (although they suggest you do).
It's just the right size, too. I have the equivalent of an eight cup coffeemaker. So I just pour my first mug of coffee, then pour the rest into the carafe.

I bought this to serve coffee at meetings. It works great. My only complaint is that it is just a little small. For an all day meeting with 5 heavy coffee drinkers, I have to refill it 3 or maybe 4 times a day. That is my fault. I should have known that a 1-Liter carafe was not going to be big enough. One other thing to point out. This has a glass lining and not a steel lining. Glass is fragile. If you drop this carafe or bang it hard enough, you will shatter the glass. So far, that has not been a problem. For the price, this is a great carafe. I only wanted to point out a few things you should consider before purchasing it.
Wonderful Product November 13, 2008
I recently purchased this from amazon and we have enjoyed its great quality. Since my husband leaves for work early in the morning, I'm not quite ready for coffee. I just make a big pot, send some to work with him and keep the rest in the carafe until I'm ready. We would recommend this to anyone!

This is a wonderful product. Truck driver for 32 years and I've seen a lot of thermos/carafe products. This is one of the best ever.
Button sticks? Top probably not fully in place. Base gets loose and leaks a bit? Carefully unscrew the base,carefully wash and dry the bottle and insides then simply do a careful reassembly. Left over condensation in the lid. Several products on the market to clean out any bad stuff.Then simply run several carafes full of water through it 'till smells fresh.. Want it to keep coffee or water a bit hotter? Simply let a carafe of hot water rest in the carafe while you prepare a pot of hot water or your choice of drink and it starts hot and stays hot for a bit longer.
I've owned that little carafe for several months now and it's seen almost 100,000 miles in my truck. Still keeping my coffee hot. Love it.
