Nancy Zieman's embroidery with cofidence beginner December 28, 2008 It is an excellent reference for people new to embroidery machines. Good information. I especially appreciated the chapter on stabelizers.
Okay but not great! July 19, 2008 I bought this when I got my Singer embroidery machine. It is okay as far as some of the fundamentals but I think it could give more info for the price. It's too slanted toward BabyLock machines in my opinion. The book has lots of very pretty pictures but I would have liked more information to go with them. I really neither recommend or not recommend it because it depends on what you are looking for.

The book explains different techniques, explains different types of backings. It is very useful for a biginner. Having this info in a handy book is really good. One can refer to it over and over. The author gives tips, and warnings. These should be heeded.
An informative book - good as any in Nancy Zieman;s series March 30, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
An informative book - with beginner info and advanced tips with plenty of images - illustrations and photographs. I've found Nancy Zieman's books to be useful in expanding my knowledge in the art of sewing and are worth picking up - either new or used.
Now - If only Nancy Zieman learned to smile a little on her book's covers ;)
