The GE SmartWater Replacement Whole House Heavy Duty Filter (FXHTC) fits GE SmartWater Whole House filters. It also fits most other brands of Whole-House filters that accept 9.5 x 4.5 inch filters. This GE water filter cartridge reduces Chlorine (Taste and Odor), Sand, Soil, Silt, Sediment, Rust, and Particulates (25 micron). It does not remove flouride. GE recommends that you replace the filter every 3 months OR after 5000 Gallons of water have been filtered OR if you notice a decrease in the flow of water.
