Good until it burst September 12, 2008 I installed this undersink unit myself and after 2 months of working well and providing filtered water, the canister burst off its threaded seems. The burst happened during the night causing significant water damage to a newly remodeled kitchen. When I called Crystal Quest I felt I was really getting the run around. There were multiple calls in which I was told I would be called back, yet return calls were never made. They also kept telling me emails were sent that did not arrive. It turns out they sent to the wrong address despite the fact that I had emailed them first. Each time I was given a different reason why I could not make a claim. They kept repeating that the failure was due to not having the unit installed professionally but could not explain how a professional installation would make any difference in the canister itself bursting off its housing. I finally got a service rep (that seemed to know what she was talking about) that explained that a pressure surge was to blame (though I had the pressure checked and it was below the 100PSI limit established int their literature). They finally agreed to a refund but never once entertained the idea that their product could have been faulty in any way.
Check their online policy very closely before buying. In my opinion, they do not seem to be standing behind their product.
Smelly carbon block filter August 18, 2008 This filter unit install easily under the sink but came with the wrong second filter (sediment). Once I received the correct carbon block filter the water began to have a very sour taste and odor. Crystal Quest recommended a particular flushing method that involves two sessions 24 hours apart but this failed to correct the foul odor. It's difficult to understand how a carbon filter can cause such a bad taste to water. I will be returning it for a refund, moving on to a different company's under sink filter.
Two stars because of the helpfulness of the Crystal Quest support people. Hopefully the company will get a handle on this problem in the near future.
