bad design August 19, 2008 the rubber piece for making a little fountain broke off quickly and after 1 month the thing just kept falling off my sink over and over . Regardless of those things it limits the ammount of space you have in your sink since it faces downward. Instead of getting clean hands I was getting them more dirty by rubbing them all over the sink while trying wash them in the little space I had left.
Look at filters tha mount on top of the faucet and do not face downward
They've stopped making it bec it's so bad! August 6, 2008 I think the title says it all. This thing started breaking w/in the first week. It's supposed to last quite a while, and I called Brita when the red light came on after only a month. It's a throwaway, so no interchangeable filter. Lousy product, which is why they stopped making it I guess. Throaways aren't green because they're too wasteful. But no one else makes a bathroom faucet filter, so I guess there's an engineering problem. Too bad.
Will continue to buy this filter January 14, 2008 I was hesitant about buying this based on what people had to say but I have had nothing but a pleasureable experience with this filter. I am not savvy about putting things together so I was nervous but I was able to hook it up in under 5 minutes which was a huge relief. People also said that it leaked, it does for the first 2 minutes until the water goes through enough times to wet the carbon inside and then it's been fine they even said this inside the instruction booklet, there are no leaks. Brita is by far the best filter ever and I am very happy at the ease of use and the ease of installation, I would recommend this for anyone looking for a bathroom filter, for $20 it can't be beat, my water no longer has an odor and it tastes great.
Dont get what the fuss is about January 3, 2008 Well, I had a different experience with my Brita. the first Brita that I got started displaying a red light just after 2-3 months. But I called Brita and they were very co-operative and helpful. Not only did they replace the filter for me (it arrived fast, within a week of me shipping it... and in case you are wondering the shipping was free - they sent me a free shipping label) but they also sent me a 10$ coupon to tide me in the meanwhile. I have had the second Brita for about 8 months now with no hassle whatsoever - its working fine, the water tastes great. By the way, it was very easy to install (no leaking water, no spraying fountains). You just really have to be careful of not running hot water through the filter. Its really convenient- give it a shot.
Not so good December 29, 2007 The taste of the water was good but I had problems with the light indicator. The first filter's light was red from the moment of installation. Amazon sent a replacement right away. I installed the second and the light was green at first but went to red within a few hours. The filter was probably good to use, just the indicator is malfunctioning. However, the indicator is important. Without it, how would I know when it is really time to replace the filter?
The drinking fountain is a good idea but when using it the water would continue to flow heavily from the filter's spout, wasting a LOT of water. I'm sending both back and forgetting about this model until Brita does a better job of diverting water from the filter's spout to the fountain, and has a better indicator system.
