The Better Bottle with Big Bite Valve makes it easy to hydrate on the go. | What is BPA? Bisphenol-A is an ingredient used to make polycarbonate. In recent months, there has been increasing consumer demand for a bottle that is not made with Bisphenol-A (BPA), and CamelBak is proud to introduce BPA-free bottles with the same great properties customers have come to expect from polycarbonate: vibrant color, clarity, durability, dishwasher-safe, and with no residual taste. As of the end of April 2008, the entire CamelBak bottle line will be available in BPA-Free materials in North America. What are phthalates? Phthalates (pronounced thal-ates) are a component added to some plastics to make them soft and pliable. None of CamelBak's bottles have ever contained phthalates. What is the BPA-free Better Bottle made from? The CamelBak Better Bottle line is made from a new copolyester polymer called Tritan, made by Eastman. It offers the same great qualities that we have come to expect from polycarbonate bottles and is 100 percent BPA-Free. The Big Bite Valve is made of medical-grade silicone for long life and taste-free performance. About CamelBak CamelBak is the originator and world leader in hands-free hydration systems. The first CamelBak products proved to be very popular among mountain bikers and motocross riders, because it allowed them to drink without taking their hands off of the handlebars in technical terrain. The product began to cross over into other sports when scientific studies showed athletes drank more fluids and performed better when they wore a CamelBak. Since then, athletes from an ever-growing list of sports and activities use CamelBak hydration systems for their convenience and performance benefits. In addition to cycling, CamelBak has Hands-Free Hydration systems for hiking, running, snowboarding and skiing. CamelBak's state-of-the-art packs and hydration systems have benefited athletes, outdoorsmen, and soldiers around the world. While CamelBak has grown tremendously since the early days, one thing hasn't changed: CamelBak still believes in the performance advantage that proper hydration delivers for just about any activity. The privately-held company is headquartered in Petaluma, California.

excellent drinking bottle January 6, 2009 The portability of this bottle is fantastic- I love just being able to grab it from anywhere by the grey loop-mostly from the floor next to my bed-its my night water drink bottle. While not having to tilt it upwards to get a drink took some getting used to, the soft blue tip that you sip the water through certainly made up for that. I've already bought another!
Spills Water January 6, 2009 Not very happy with this product. I fill it with water and ice, then close. I then reopen , say 5 minutes later, and water always splashes all over me. Not a very good product. Also, does not fit in any of my car cup holders.
Great product January 6, 2009 Great water bottle. Doesn't spill. Easy to drink from. Fits in the car's cup holder. Plan on buying another one.
Nice bottles. No plastic smell. 0.75 liters do not fit on most car cupholders January 6, 2009 Nice bottles. No plastic smell. 0.75 liters do not fit on most car cup holders. Cap has a valve for air intake (I think) while you are sipping. I bought 4 bottles (different size but same cap) only one cap works nicely. Valves on other caps do not seem to be letting air in properly and are just a little bit harder to drink from. If you want to take a big gulp of water, you may get a little frustrated. But, they all work.
Frivolous, but a dirty pleasure January 1, 2009 Buying a water bottle rather than recycling a plastic bottle is conspicuous consumption. You could buy a single squeeze bottle of water at a convienence store and refill it dozens of times for the price of this bottle.
But if you're going to indulge in this particular instance of conspicuous consumption, this is the water bottle to buy. An internal straw so you don't have to tilt your head back, a bite valve and a valve in the spout so it doesn't leak. The lever to open the valve is well designed and easy to use with one hand. And a loop to hang it from your belt, backpack, or whatever.
Throw your environmental conscience to the side and indulge yourself.
