Great for drinking and for fish October 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Tired of buying water every week for my family, we decided to purchase this RO water kit for the sink. Initially the installation seems complicated. However after installing it... the water taste from the sink is absolutely great. In addition, this water kit will shut off after filling the tank full so no one has to worry that much about wasting that much water from filtering faucet water. Overall, I am really happy with the purchase. I now have good water (better than filter water at Walmart) and I can use this water for my saltwater fish tank. OH BTW, this 5 stage water kit is cheap compared to other water kit such as GE RO which is only 3 stage!!!
Great reverse osmosis system October 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My family was using Brita water filters until we found that they didn't get rid of the fluoride in tap water. After some research, I found that reverse osmosis systems could eliminate most of the fluoride as well as many other contaminants in the water.
I am not a handyman but surprisingly the water system was not too hard to install. I used a drill, some drill bits, a couple of wrenches, and a slotted screw driver.
Watts Premier's filter looks a lot like the other RO systems you can find out there, but what really puts Watts over the top is great customer service.
good water, but beware of water drippage September 3, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The quality of the water is excellent... I probably drink more water than ever before.
However, if you don't like noises, the system can make a bit of noise when it's first installed. Meanwhile, right now, as I am using this system, occasionally water will drip onto the side. So, you better hope and pray it will stop quickly soon after it happens. Otherwise, you will discover flooding around the sink and perhaps dripping to the floor. If you are not an observant user, this system could drive you nuts occasionally.
Great tasting water August 13, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Our water (from a shallow well) has all sorts of sediment in it, especially in the spring when runoff is highest. After being filtered by this filter, the water is crystal clear and tastes great.
Three things to be aware of: (1) with the filter and the tank, it takes up a considerable amount of undersink space (about 1/3 of our space is now gone); (2) if your sink doesn't have a cutout for the filter's faucet, you'll need to punch a hole in the sink; (3) if your incoming water pressure is not consistently at least 45 psi, you'll need to buy a booster pump from Watts (the phone number/web site will be on the registration materials, about $140).
The push-in connectors for the tubing are nice, but remember to push them in firmly until they seat, otherwise you'll have a leak.
Faucet has been replaced with an inferior design June 10, 2008 8 out of 11 found this review helpful
I bought filtering system for our old house and was satisfied with it, so I bought it for our new home. They've now replaced the faucet that you see in the picture with a (presumably cheaper) design that you have turn on/off with your other hand. There's now a flimsy plastic sleeve that you turn on/off at the base of the faucet. We really liked the old design with a button on the end of the faucet that you could push on as you put the glass under the faucet and just pull the glass away to turn it off. I was told by Watts' customer support that they discontinued the old design a year ago, but they never updated the picture on the box or in the web marketing. We were so disappointed that we returned this one.
