Finally, the perfect coffee maker December 4, 2008 I searched and searched and read the reviews, after having two Cuisinart Coffee On Demand brewers burn out in two years, at $100 each (Don't ever buy that machine, for several reasons). I'm able to compare this to the Cuisinart. Easy setup, easy instructions, beautiful display with all the needed information. The brewing temperature and storage temperature are perfect. It dispenses quickly. The greatest thing to me is that the storage container, which is also used as the fill container, has the fill level on both the left and right side, and it's very easy to read, and it has a small pour spout, so when you go to pour it into the brew chamber on the coffee maker, you don't get any spills at all. This unit is tall, but I didn't notice any vapor exiting the top as noted in another review, so my upper cabinets are just fine. No mess, plenty of capacity, perfect brewing temp, great display, receives travel mugs, programable, great looking, bottom rollers, and coffee stays hot without burning for up to 4 hours, and at only $59, what else would you want?
Great Brewing System December 3, 2008 After having many brands and deciding to venture away from Mr. Coffee for awhile, I decided to try this deluxe version and have been using it for about 1 1/2 years! Glad I did! I love the features, it's easy to clean, no oops like I used to have with something going wrong and coffee everywhere. My husband and I are both coffee drinkers - like it good, strong and black! I see the features that others want, but I am a country girl and good coffee is all I need. Having it brewed when I get up is great! Glad I got the deluxe model so that it will allow us to fill our tall, to-go cups.
Brews Quick and Requires Little Maintenance December 2, 2008 We've had this coffee maker for over a year now and it still works wonderfully! It brews 12 cups really fast. If it slows down, just brew 2 to 4 cups of white vinegar and you're back to quick brews. We do clean the coffee maker with vinegar once or twice a month. To be honest, we haven't replaced the filters like it says to, but it seems to be just fine. We brew about 8 cups of coffee once a day.
Worth every penny for excellent coffee November 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Hamilton Beach 47454 BrewStation Deluxe 12-Cup Coffeemaker I very recently purchased the Brew Station Deluxe. I was looking for a coffeepot that I could have the option of either a small or larger pot, have a freshed brewed taste over the course of the morning, or go from a cup of regular coffee to a flavored one after a cup or two later on. I thought about purchasing either the one cup coffeemakers or a 4 cup coffee maker. Then, I came across the ingenious design by Hamilton Beach and Cuisinart where there was no carafe and you could just pour a cup a of coffee directly from the machine or do a quick warm up and have the option of 1-4 cups or a full pot. Intrigued I researched the products and it seemed to combine the idea of the huge urn style coffeemakers with the home coffee makers. I liked the idea of no carafe or coffee sitting in for over an hour and becoming nasty and stale tasting. After looking at the Cuisinart Coffee on Demand and the several styles of the Brewstation, my husband and I agreed on the Brewstation Deluxe with the added pluses of a water filter for impurities and the permanent coffee filter. We loved the idea of making 1-4 cups or a full pot and the fact that it turned off after 1,2,3 or 4 hours (however you chose) in case you left the house and forgot to turn the pot off. The claim of having the coffee in a well rather then carafe would give you fresh tasting coffee hours after making the pot was intriguing but, we were somewhat skeptical of any claims like that (seems alot of coffee makers make that claim and it usually is not the case). We have only had the coffeemaker for a few days and are in love with it. The claim of fresh tasting coffee hours later is TRUE. I made a pot the first day and had a second cup a few hours later and was amazed by the fresh taste, as if I just made the pot. I love being able to refresh my cup or grab a new fresh cup and just pushing the cup in and getting coffee rather then messing around with a carafe. Or being so careful not to drop the carafe. And it's so easy to make a pot of coffee, set the way you want it and clean it afterwards. And this makes the best tasting coffee I've ever had with a home coffeemaker. I've had all kinds from the cheap to the much touted Braun. I have never had coffee so smooth and tasty and enjoyable - even hours after I've made the coffee. My husband and I are so thrilled with this coffeemaker that we just could not wait to write a review. We wanted people who were looking for a coffeemaker to check this one seriously out. The pluses are numberable and I am still wondering what the minuses could be. I could find them after a month or so but, at this point I would urge people to give this one a try. It's worth every penny and these days no one can afford to waste those.
Great Concept BUT poor design November 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had my brew station for almost a year and I got this unit because my mother-in-law had one and I loved it. Soon after I got mine, hers began to leak coffee from the holder all over the counter. She eventually had to stop using it all together. Well sure enough, just under a years time, mine began to do the samething. While it worked, it was great but it would have been nice to have used it for atleast a few years.
**Just another note. I kept very good care of mine. Cleaned it after every singe use and never left coffee in the container.**
